The Truth!

The truth in a stick. The stick of Truth. The South Park Game.

So, I've been trying out that new South Park game the last few days. I originally thought that it was going to be some lame excuse of a game with the South Park label attached to it. It looks like I was wrong. The South Park game is pretty fun. It doesn't reinvent the RPG genre or anything, but it offers a variety of classes with interesting skills, an engaging (south park themed) storyline, and the traditional turn based combat system with some timing involved in attacks and defense.
What stands out the most in this game is the (yeah you probably guessed it) South Park theme. The visual aesthetic of the game is really representative of the show and makes the game really feel as though it is the show itself. Some people have even said that it feels like you're playing through the next season of South Park by playing this game. There are also a lot of inside jokes and attention to details inside the game that will make it so that watchers of the show are very entertained; but perhaps not so much for the new players. This is still a great game even if you don't watch the show though, as in addition to the nice combat system and general feel of the game, there are also tons of easy and hard to find Easter eggs and collectibles hidden throughout the game.
Some parts of the game are really not for those that are easily grossed out. The game is so extreme in these sections that they are censored in some places across the world.

The TLDR is that it's a turn based RPG game that is inspired by south park.
lol, I know that was a greatest TLDR ever.
But yeah, South Park: The Stick of Truth.
Really fun game.

One Winged Blasphomet

So remember way back when, when I introduced that I had friends that also blogged? So one of them doesn't believe that son of a bishop is alive anymore, because he had been put down in this previous post:
RIP Son of a Bishop
But the truth was that he did die... BUT WAS REVIVED 3 DAYS LATER!!! WoW!
Doge Very Impress
Much Jesus
So Life

But yeah, the Blasphomet believes that we are one and the same (you can see the post here). He believes that we are the same person. Thus I dub him the blasphomet, for doubting the lord. (My friends started calling me lord, because my name is Kelvin and they found it amusing to refer to me as Lord Kelvin).
Lord Kelvin
But yeah, how dare this blasphomet dare doubt the lord and his prophet: Son of a Bishop. He simply maintains a personal relationship with the lord, and does as the lord commandeth. All who worship the lord know that the first commandment is to "moveth as a unit".
But yeah, all kidding aside, we aren't the same person.

On another note, some friends and I decided to try making some bubble tea over the weekend.

Surprisingly, we didn't fuck it up. We didn't undercook the bubbles or let them get stuck together. The tea went pretty well too. We ended up having to use honey ginger packets for sweetening since we didn't have any sugar, but it ended up turning out pretty nicely.
The reason me and my friends decided to try making our own bubble tea is because the bubble tea place near the university is incredibly expensive (about 5 dollars for a large cup of bubble tea). Another beverage that's really expensive is alcohol!

WoW! look how much fun these people are having drinking bubble tea! (that's totally bubble tea near the end and I totally just mentioned alcohol for no reason).

The Elder Scrolls Online

So, after my exams last week, I felt really tired.
I was so tired that I:

Well not really, but I was tired enough that I wasn't able to fall asleep from insomnia. It's a really weird experience to not be able to fall asleep even though you're extremely tired.

But anyways, I decided to play some Elder Scrolls Online Beta. I had tried the game out before, but I didn't really like it. Although I didn't really like the game, I thought that maybe I just didn't reach a high enough level for it to be fun; so I gave it another chance.

Well, my opinion hasn't changed. The game has great visual and holds a lot of things that can be explored, however I found many things disappointing. Don't get me wrong, this game isn't bad at all; but it isn't at the level of greatness that I would pay $15 dollars a month to play.
My first qualm is with the combat. The elder scrolls games have had a history of having a pretty cool combat system that combines a sort of first person aiming system with melee and magical combat. The Elder Scrolls Online combat, however, seems more a lot more like the traditional tab targeting system. Sure some of the spells in the game are AOE (area of effect) based, but for the most part, you don't really need to aim, but just press the corresponding button to the skill and it will automatically hit (this include the normal attack and a lot of enemy attacks). Sure there is a dodge system, however that also doesn't appeal to me. This is due to the dodge system working based on the stamina bar. Dodging will make any damage you would have taking, get mitigated. You don't actually have to dodge the blow, as long as you start up your dodge animation, everything will miss you. So pretty much, if you just upgrade your stamina bar, you will be able to dodge more. I dislike this because I believe that everything should have a area of where it will hit, and dodging should be based off of the player's ability to perceive incoming threats and dodging them accordingly.
The next topic I'm going to talk about is, in my opinion, the worst feature of The Elder Scrolls Online. When making a character, the faction that you will be fighting fore is based on the race you choose. So if your friends are all in one alliance, but you want to play a race from a different alliance, then you won't be able to join them. Another issue is that based on which faction you join, you will arrive in different places and receive different quests. This means that some factions might have better quest lines than the others (and I've found this to be the case with the Aldmeri Dominion). This also means that you won't even be able to interact with other players. I'm not sure if there is a point in the game where you will end up meeting with other players, but I got bored of the game long before reaching at point. Also there are big faction wars that I've heard are really fun and a spectacle to behold, however that seems pretty far away from where I've gotten in the game, and I'm not willing to put in that much time to get to that point.
Another qualm I have is with the level up system and what abilities you can use. Your abilities are all limited based on which class you choose at the beginning of the game. I was really hoping that they would revolutionize how the MMO genre would handle the class system. I wanted to be able to mix and match different skills from different trees, but that doesn't seem to be the case with The Elder Scrolls Online.
I really want a game that will revolutionize the genre of MMOs, because I really like the concept of an MMO, but I never really found any MMOs that made me feel like I enjoyed myself. There still is hope though! I await the arrival of "EverQuest Next".
The game promises to have full on multi-classing, a dynamic environment (changing population spawns based on player actions and quest system that doesn't just follow a set story line), destructible terrain, an action based combat system, and big quests that require the help of all players and will end up changing the world based on the results.
I feel like a lot of what it promises might fall flat on it's face, but I'm still eager to see how it will turn out.

Titanfall Smart Pistol MK5

So I was playing some Titanfall beta while it was up last week (if you don't know about Titanfall, it's a new first person shooter game that features piloting mechanized exoskeletons called "titans". More info here Titanfall) and it had this really interesting primary weapon called the "Smart Pistol MK5". This weapon is pistol (duh) that when equipped, makes your HUD (heads up display) show a big box. Now I know exactly what you want to ask:
Well, I can't say for sure what's in the box, but the box is magical and make it so that your bullets curve to headshot whatever you have locked on in the box.
WoW!
So box
Very curve
Many bullets
Much headshot
Here's a demonstration:

So basically, it's a lock on pistol that homes in your shots onto the enemy's head. "Hey wait isn't that overpowered?" (yeah that's right, I can hear your thoughts). Well, no. It isn't. You see, in the game of "Titanfall", there are player controlled characters (Pilots) and non-player controlled characters (Grunts & Spectres). The smart pistol only has to lock on to grunts and spectres once to kill them, but the smart pistol has to lock on to enemy pilots 3 times to kill (where each lock takes about a second to... well... lock on). So if you were to go head to head against a person using a smart pistol, then you would have about 3 seconds to kill them before dying, which would be enough for anyone with any skill whatsoever. If one were to just shoot with the pistol regularly, it would only do the damage of a regular pistol, which can't match up to any of the game's other weapons in terms of damage, so this weapon is pretty pointless for anything besides stealth kills and farming minio-
I mean killing enemy grunts and spectres (I wasn't referring to a MOBA game, no not at all (if you don't get this reference then you are a nooblord!!!!!!!!!!11111))
It also takes the slot of a primary weapon, so you can't take a carbine or a shotgun and carry the smart pistol around.

By now, you must have started wondering why I've been talking about this weapon from this game, and how it relates to the blog? Well, you see, since this weapon locks on to people, you don't have to really aim. You kind of just point in the general direction, making it the perfect weapon of the Aimless Army! (cuz none of us can aim, o noez) From this day on, the Smart Pistol MK5 shall be the standard issue weapon of the Aimless Army.

On another note, there's another cool thing you can do in Titanfall where you can hack enemy spectres and make them fight on your team. I've made a reddit post about the point system regarding hacking enemy spectres. Basically I feel like they shouldn't give attrition points in attrition mode until they are killed (and when they are killed, they shouldn't give points to the team they were originally on). I feel this way since attrition mode is set in a battle of attrition (meaning that it's a war to deplete the enemy's resources). By hacking the spectres, you aren't taking away resources, but instead repurposing them; however, when you kill a hacked spectre (that was originally part of your team) you aren't depleting enemy resources, you are depleting your own; so it doesn't make sense IMO for killing hacked spectres to give you attrition points, or for hacking spectres to give attrition points and I believe that they should instead give points to the hacker's team when they die.
Anyways, if you are interested in seeing the discussion, check it out here:
Killing Hacked Spectres (Attrition)

On another note (yes another, I know I said that again. lol) Towerfall and Titanfall are releasing on the same day (March 11th, 2014). I just thought that was pretty interesting. It's also a Tuesday so I now dub Tuesday, March 11th as "Double T-Fall Tuesday".

WoW! It fits

So I was checking my facebook, when a friend of mine posted their results of this quiz: What Actually Is Your Biggest Flaw?

This was my result:

You got: You have no idea what you are doing.
NBC

Be proud, noble clueless person. When you figure out what direction to go in, you will keep going in it until you cure cancer, or solve the energy crisis, or walk into the ocean.

So yeah, I thought that it was pretty relevant to my blog and that I should share it with whoever it is that reads this dumb blog.

Exam Week

Y u do dis college? how could u do dis... TO ME?!?!?!

O yeah, on the topic of links, here's another song I made. yey!
Danger Sky

But yeah, Izsosad, cuz i gotta start studying for exams.
I could procrastinate by the book too, but that wouldn't be good for my grades.
If you would like a guide on how to procrastinate for whatever reason, then you have come to the right place.

How2PROcrastinateLiekuhPRO

Part 1: Identify what exactly you are procrastinating for
(how can you procrastinate if you don't know what you are procrastinating for?)

1. Write down everything you need to do for the upcoming week
2. Make a list with what you have written down (order by time, importance, and workload with time having the most priority, followed by importance, and finally workload)
3. Take that list and put it where you will only occasionally see it, such that you will be reminded of what you need to do, but it won't distract you from your procrastination

Part 2: Enable distractions
(if you end up with nothing to do except for what you are supposed to be doing, then you will end up doing what you should do instead of.... well..... PROCRASTINATING LIKE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO!)

1. Open up your computer and make sure that you have tabs open for social media (facebook, twitter, etc), email, chat clients, youtube, and anything else you ussually like to check.
2. Make sure your phone's volume is set to high
3. If possible, relocate to a chatty place
4. If you like to listen to music, make sure you are listening to music with vocals that make you end up contemplating life as well as  other things

Part 3: Actively look for other things to do
(Sure, part 2 will keep u going for a while, but it won't waste your entire day)

- Do housework/chores
- Mess up your living environment so you can do housework/chores
- Ask friends "wut dey b up 2" and pester them endlessly
- Ask friends if they wanna hang out or play a game or something
- Do some hobbies (make musix, knit, whatever the hell it is that you do)
- Tweet/Facebook about how you're totally not doing the homework that you should be doing
- Instagram some food
- Make ridiculous snapchats
- Update your blog
- Make a guide on how to procrastinate

This will probably be me tonight after I've stopped procrastinating and I decide to finally start studying
